Our Story

Chris Grillo| Co-Founder, Buyer|Cellar

With a passion for fine wines and a background in building trading desk technology, Chris began working on ways to use “big wine data” to fill his family cellar starting in 2019.  As the CEO and driving force behind the algorithms used to surface the best globally available wine deals, Chris sincerely believes the Buyer|Cellar platform is the best and most cost-efficient way to fill your cellar.

Raised in a large Italian family, Chris spends every Sunday around the dinner table with his extended family. At these dinners, wine is considered part of the meal and is always a topic of conversation. Wine tells the story of a time and place packaged in a way that must be shared. This makes it an ideal way to regularly experience something beautiful with the people you care about most. As enjoyable as this is, a large and thirsty family can put serious pressure on any cellar. Maintaining a large supply of interesting and high quantity wine at a manageable price can be an extremely difficult.

For Brendan, wine is about cultivating a sense of friendship and exploration with the world around him. Buyer|Cellar is about finding what’s new and what’s next, while allowing him to explore the history of wine.

Brendan cherishes the experience that wine cultivates. Wine encourages you to slow down, to savor the company, conversation, and food, rather than simply rushing through the experience.

Brendan’s love for wine goes beyond the social aspect. It's a personal journey of discovery. With every bottle, we delve deeper into the world of winemaking, the nuances of grape varietals, and the terroir that shapes each unique flavor profile. It's a constant learning experience.
